Jon, Graham, and David are the three developers of MycoRelic. Coming out of high school, we became close friends with a shared passion for playing videogames, but more importantly a shared desire in wanting to make videogames.
Our first “small” project together started in 2013, and turned into a four year long adventure; creating a mod for an indie game called Hammerwatch. In between college classes and part time jobs, we found time to work together on this mod. Packing up computers into the passenger seats of our cars and driving to each others houses for crunch sessions, countless hours spent on voice calls, and a seemingly endless amount of time spent working to create this mod. Completing this project taught us a lot about our own team dynamics, and only further fueled our passion and desire to create videogames together.
Years later, ideas were being thrown around, concept art was being created, music was getting made, and educating ourselves in our crafts brought us to the point where we slowly got started on MycoRelic. Each of us had full time jobs, now out of college, but craved that old rush from the modding days. In our spare time we were able to slowly pull the concept of MycoRelic into reality, and the snowball of game dev took over. Jobs were lost or quit, the dedication we once had years ago came back, and now we’re proudly working full time to bring MycoRelic into reality.
